Blinded as a child by shards of glass, Kai's world has been reflected through the eyes of his childhood friend-turned-nurse. After his corneal transplant, though, the mirror image is reversed, and he sees things far too differently from Miharu to marry her. Instead, he goes charging out into the snow after his cold-hearted surgeon, Hizuki. There's something alluring about Hizuki, and, for some reason, Hizuki is drawn to the eyes he placed in Kai. Kai chases Hizuki to the freezing ends of the earth and presents him with this puzzle for the understanding: How long can the shards of their lives be forced to fit perfectly into place?
