Résumé
The story begins with the mysterious destruction of warships, apparently by a gigantic sea monster. A team that includes Professor Pierre Aronnax, a noted marine biologist, heads out to sea to find and destroy the menace, and only after the monster destroys their own vessel does the team discover the unthinkable : the fearsome creature is a huge submarine, the invention of the reclusive and obsessive Captain Nemo, and they must thwart his fantastic plans.
